The arrival from Split to Stari Grad from the airport by bus or car is very easy. The ferry from Split port to Stari Grad is available regularly.
Leaving the airport you can find big white shuttle busses in front of the airport. In the front window of the busses you can find the destination sign of the bus. The busses with the destination “ferry port” are shuttle busses which drive directly to the ferry port bus station without stopping. The shuttle bus price is about 8 euro/person.
From the bus station go to the ferry ticket shop of the ferry company “Jadrolinija”. Standing in front of the bus station and looking to the sea you can find small ticket shops on the right and a bigger shop to the left side. At the right side there are one or two small white shops, at the left side the bigger ticket shop is behind the building.
If you prefer a more private transfer from the ferry port in Split or from the airport you can also book a taxi or a private shuttle service. Many travelers choose this option for a stress free arrival at the ferry terminal. Once you arrive at the ferry port of Stari Grad on Hvar island you will also find several taxis waiting directly in front of the ship. A taxi ride from the port to Holiday House Oleas takes only about 5 to 7 minutes and is very convenient if you have heavy luggage. Alternatively there is a local bus waiting for every arriving ferry which connects the port with the main bus station in the center of Stari Grad.
Be sure to buy a ticket from Split to destination Stari Grad (on Hvar island), NOT to destination Hvar (town).
– By walk: follow the coast which leads you directly to the center. Standing in front of the big supermarket “TOMMY” follow the street to the right and turn the next street left where the destination sign to “Rudina” is (it’s the next street after passing TOMMY). 1 minute walk after passing the sign “Rudina”. Walking duration is about 30-45 minutes from the ferry port Stari Grad to the accommodation.
– By car: leave the ferry port and turn left to Stari Grad and follow the signs and turn to Stari Grad where you can see the sign “center” and follow the street until the supermarket “TOMMY). Standing with your car in front of the big supermarket “TOMMY” follow the street to the right and turn the next street left where the destination sign to “Rudina” is (it’s the next street after passing TOMMY). Driving duration from the ferry port Stari Grad is about 5- 10 minutes.
